'Ektaraar Daake'
COVID-19 has taken a toll on the health and economic well being of millions of people all across the world...Similarly, it has made a huge adverse impact on all performing arts communities. We, the MIST members took a small step towards supporting few of these communities in West Bengal.
MIST organized a 'Virtual' Theater Festival Fundraiser on Nov 7/8, 2020 supporting the Baul community in West Bengal and Natyokormi in Kolkata. Five teams from all over the USA and two dramas from MIST were a part of the two day festival. Further, celebrities like Koushik Sen, Chandan Sen and Amrita Mukhopadhyay also performed in the fundraising event. Thank you for your generous contributions and for making this virtual theater festival and fundraiser a great success! We seek your help to continue to support this initiative and urge you to donate generously. Any amount you can contribute will make a difference. Please reach out to us if you have any question and/or concern! Thanks for your help! |

What is MIST?
The people we are today, could be a by-product of different characters we loved to assume, while confronting multivariate issues closely related to our intellect and to our vulnerable 'self.' Even then, humanity survived in us, through us.
Introspecting, we will communicate the masks we choose to wear, issues that we confronted or dodged, and spheres of life or stages where it all took place.
Hence, "Masks, Issues and Stages Traversed."
Frequently we experience comforting imperfections, may be, we will never find closures ; yearning...longing...
Are we even allowed to unleash the wild animals, ever?

MIST is a "platform", which has been created to "preserve and disseminate" this art form, and make it relevant to our times and context.
Why MIST?
We WANT to say something!
At times, our languages, gestures, usage of indices, symbols and icons might evoke an archaic smell or even propel futuristic ferver. Again, at times, it might just be a simple slice of our daily 'not-so-exciting' life that we breathe.
Who is MIST?
...and many other enthusiasts both on and off stage!
